The Bible repeatedly provides us many examples of how the world and God's own people reject God’s prophetic warnings. Anyone who reads the Bible, God's written word, can clearly see the pattern God follows throughout history: in continued times of apostasy of His people, God speaks through His prophets to give repeated warnings of impending judgement if they do not turn back to Him. These are never popular messages to deliver or receive.
The history of God’s prophecies
The words and warnings from God through His prophet Jeremiah were rejected for perhaps 40 years by the religious leaders and the people, including the king. Jeremiah at one point was not even allowed into the temple, and the king tore up and burned God's words of warning sent through Jeremiah. [Jeremiah 36]
Jesus Christ, God's Son manifested in the flesh, was largely rejected by the religious leaders and rulers of his day, as were His disciples. And so it continues to this day: so many who study and teach God's words continue to ignore and reject those whom God Himself sends to warn them.
Today’s rejection of God’s message
Unfortunately, a large segment of today's church believes and teaches that God has changed and that we continue in a time of "grace," where God will not and cannot bring any form of chastisement or judgement to those who willfully choose to rebel against Him, as though God's hands are tied. However, we are now in a season where God Himself is issuing warnings with physical acts of judgement, and many in the church counter His words and actions, claiming they are the works of Satan, attempting to nullify the very words and acts of God sent in mercy meant to save people before full judgement comes. [Prov. 16:4]
There also exists a large segment of today's church that believes and teaches that God Himself is not and will not speak and warn through a prophet today. These church teachers and leaders have set it in their hearts, that there cannot be a prophet today, and therefore the sheep they teach, and lead are directed to ignore anyone who claims to speak God's words of warnings as a prophet, without any biblical examination or discernment. These church leaders actively attempt to Silence God Himself and disregard the overwhelming prophetic evidence God has provided today, without any fear of the Lord. [John 7:52]
Today, too many pastors and church leaders refuse to examine the prophetic evidence that God Himself has provided here, with His intent to properly inform and lead His flock in the season we are in. So many of the shepherds are blinding the sheep and leading the flock astray with their own agendas, missions, and hearts rather than God's. Throughout history, God always deals with these shepherds in His way and in His time. [James 3:1, Ezekiel 34:10]
